The Chronicles of Plumbia, Part III
3 November, 2006So, let’s see. Is this day 772 of this ordeal? Feels like it.
As you may guess, this hasn’t been the cakewalk we were hoping. More like a cake-while-still-in-the-425-degree-oven-and-for-some-reason-covered-in-broken-glass-and-we-actually-have-to-walk-on-it walk. The photo below is the second-to-last in our series. The tile is completely down, finally. Most of the last pieces weren’t too difficult, except around the toilet, which forces you to carve ceramic into bizarre three-dimensional swirly shapes to make it fit, only to find that one curve is off by a millimeter. Since we took the photo, we’ve put in the grout, which led to the next Poke, this one our fault. We waited too long to clean up the excess grout, and it dried. We then had to scrub and scrape until we got it all off. It’s OK now, but our arms were rubbery by the end of the night. Today I put a coat of sealant over the tiles and grout, making it shower-ready.
Next up: a fresh coat of paint. On the walls, not the tile. I’ll probably start tonight on that, and the next time I post I’ll probably be blinded by a random drop of paint that bounced off an unseen and mysterious force placed there by a tear in the space-time continuum.

*wonders what happened to cookie monster*
Let’s just say that, after what he did to me, he’ll be looking at the tiles for a long, long time….
from underneath.
bwhoo, hoo, hah, hah, haaaah
[supposed to be an evil laugh]
Nothing sassy this time–this really looks nice. Great job!
